Second day of Filming and Casting Change

Second Day of Shooting Organization

From my first day of shooting I managed to get some footage, however as mentioned in my ‘first edit’ post I accounted several problems from this footage so I have organized another day for filming with a better camera so that when it comes to editing I won’t have as many problems. The day in which I have organized for my second shooting is Sunday the 1st February because it is the only day I can have a full day of shooting and in which my actors are free. Here is some information on how I have organized my second day for shooting.
Weather Report

From the weather report it shows that for my second day of shooting the weather will be adequate for filming, when it comes to travelling to my different locations I am fortunate enough to be able to drive so travelling will not be an issue.

Here are some screen shots of the messages between myself and actors organising times and places to meet.

Casting Change

Originally Louise Clark was going to play the female lead role in my music video, however when it came to organising my second shoot she was unable to make any of the days for filming, due to other commitments with work and college. Therefore I had to make a casting change at the last minute, luckily I have another friend who is willing to take Louise’s place, and Zoe will now play the lead female role. As I had problems with
my first edit due to the camera that I used, I had to re-shoot everything anyways so the casting change has not affected me that greatly. I think that choosing Zoe as my new actress is a good decision because she is a current Wyke student who studies both drama and performing artists, so therefore will not be camera shy and will know how to create a believe performance. Adding to this Zoe is also close friends with Dan who is my main male lead role therefore when filming Zoe and Dan will both feel comfortable acting together.

First Draft

First Draft Music Video

This is the first edit for my music video, I am really not happy with this first edit as I encountered various problems that initially made my video look unprofessional and rushed. The first issue that I had was organizing shooting with my actors, as we arranged a day for shooting the weather forecast unexpectedly changed and I had to deal with rain and my main actress had to leave early due to other commitments therefore my shooting was rushed. Furthermore when it came to editing my footage I had a problem with the type of camera in which I had used, as the background sound would not separate from the footage on the editing suites. So I asked the technician if there was anything they could do to help me with my problem and apparently nothing could be done because of the type of camera in which I had used. So consequently had to continue editing for practice with the unfortunate sound of background noise like wind and the song from another technical device. Also I believe my footage was not expectable for editing as due to my own inexperience with filming and rushing my filming the footage looked unprofessional and the camera in which I used made editing specifically difficult due to other technical issues that became evident. From all the problems that I have faced during my first edit, there are changes that I am going to make that ensure that my second edit goes more to plan. Firstly I am going to use a reliable camera from college and organise my actors more efficiently.
