My Inspirations

My Inspirations

From research I have come across these photographs that use different materials to create special effects. The specific effect I like is the use of the throwing of the powdered paint and capturing the image in slow motion. I am thinking of incorporating some of these ideas into my own music videos as I feel they would relate well to the theme of my video. From looking at these pictures I tested certain shots on how using these materials will actually look. As I knew what I wanted the images to look like I modelled in the pictures whilst my friend who takes photography took the photos and helped me understand how to use the camera to get these effects.

My Own Images;

These three images are a few selected from my collection of test shots, from doing these test shots it has a allowed me to understand the difficulty to capture these specific motion shots effectively. However I do like the style and think that this effect could be incorporated onto my digipak packaging.

Here in this shot I used star confetti as the material to create the effect. The location for the shots where taken at Hull's Humber docks to give the images a more urban feel.

This image is a high angle shot, for this image simple shop bought glitter was used to create the effect.

Overall I like the effect of a certain material being layered over a image as seen in the photographs shown above, adding to this I also would like add filters to my video also shown in the images above. For example certain filters can document a certain style for example a memory or black and white to portray sadness or highlight other features more important such type of shot or mise en scene.
